GOODNIGHT MOON & THE RUNAWAY BUNNY

Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia's "Goodnight Moon" and "The Runaway Bunny," are coming to MTC. This staged adaptation celebrates the award-winning, classic children's stories by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd. Their endearing rabbit characters and dream-like imagery, brought to life on stage, have delighted generations with familiar nighttime rituals and comforting tales. Brown's timeless stories and Hurd's captivating illustrations have become beloved treasures across the world.

ZEST COLLECTIVE: AFRO BLUE & THE FOUNTAIN

Date/Time: October 25-26, 2024

This Miami-based dance company celebrates the voices of Black musicians, blending biography, social history, music, and choreography to highlight the beauty and innovations of the African diaspora. In partnership with MTC, MLP, and Culture Shock Miami, this presentation explores a century of creativity, imagination, and triumph to tell the stories of Black artists and communities whose songs rang out despite North America's challenging history. They will be performing Afro Blue and Fountain.

PETER RABBIT & FRIENDS

Date/Time: November 2, 2024 • Doors Open 3pm

You are cordially invited to meet Peter Rabbit and friends in a mesmerizing puppet show that brings four beloved Beatrix Potter stories to life with original text and live music. Instruments like mandolin, violin, toy piano, and banjo create the enchanting score, while dynamic suitcases and trunks reveal delightful images. Three performers blend classic narration and puppetry with interactive moments, engaging the audience in the adventure. A beloved favorite at Chicago Children’s Theatre since 2018, this handmade production has toured locally and in China. It now embarks on its first national tour across North America in 2024-2025, with a special visit to MTC.

THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD

MTC is thrilled to present Tall Stories' enchanting adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's beloved book, "The Gruffalo's Child," touring from London, England. Ignoring her father's warnings about the Big Bad Mouse, the Gruffalo's Child embarks on an adventurous mission through the deep dark wood, encountering a debonair snake, eccentric owl, and cunning fox. With three performers using Tall Stories’ distinctive physical storytelling, humor, and catchy original music, this lively performance promises songs, laughs, and scary fun for everyone.

BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL JR.

The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice JR., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.
